The Importance Of Nice Underwear

Let's talk lingerie. My first experiences with anything other than a vest were a little traumatic and I was probably the only pre-teen that didn't want those lady lumps to grow (cue me crying in M&S having skipped a few sizes). Now I'm in my late (sheesh) twenties I've finally grown at peace with my chest and it's only in the past few years that I've managed to find some undies that reflect my personal style. My outfits favour colour and pattern but ever since I catapulted out of the Topshop size range, I've been a little resentful. I don't want scaffolding, I don't want garish, I just want the same amount of quirks and colour ranges that I can find in every other clothing category. Fortunately I've found a few sets where I don't have to make a compromise and they make me feel far better about the part of my body I once hated. I may not be able to wear those oh-so-pretty-yet-flimsy triangle bras (I was so gutted this store was out of bounds for me in Amsterdam) but I have found some alternatives that float my boat just as much.

Is it me or have ASOS seriously upped their underwear buying game? I've bought a few sets from Freya in the past, but I'm now even more impressed with Panache (especially their Cleo range) and Claudette. It's great to finally have a few more options in terms of crazy colour combinations and fabrics and I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection again in the near future. Buying a new set is different to just buying a new dress, amirite? It's always been the underwear dream to own something that comes in a certain little pink box and after an event last year, I got to pick out my first set from Agent Provocateur. It's pretty something and even now I don't really feel worthy but I'm going to try and alter that state of mind pretty sharpish. I've come a long way since girl boxers and it's time to feel special even if no one sees. Who else has started getting addicted to pretty sets? AP currently have a sale on, I won't tell!
