Birthday Reflection + Intention

It was my birthday yesterday and I reached a milestone of having lived a quarter of my life. For me birthdays have always been about 'feeling special' and making sure I told everyone about 'my day'. I always went in with a lot of expectation and anticipation as to how I would want my birthday to go and when it didn't live up to the expectation, I would become upset and disappointed.

This year I gave my birthday no meaning, as in I had no expectations for it. I simply just let it be and lived in the moment. I was not longing for it go a certain way, get a certain gift or feel a certain way. I have the choice in how I want to feel and that feeling comes from within not from any external situation or item. I don't want to feel special, I just want to feel content with who I am and where I am. So that was the mindset I had yesterday, and it was a beautiful day of just being with my presence and allowing myself to stay grounded in who I am: a spiritual being on earth school having earthly experiences.
To end my birthday last night, I did a reflection and intention exercise to gain a deeper understanding of my progress, growth and experiences thus far in life. I asked myself 6 questions to reflect on my 24th year and then asked another 5 questions as my 25th year intentions. Here are the questions below.
__24th__ year reflections:
1. What were my biggest challenges? 2. What were my biggest accomplishments? 3. What lessons did I learn? 4. My most memorable moments? 5. How did I start and finish the year? 6. Five people I am most grateful for this past year.
__25th__ year intentions:
1. What am I looking forward to? 2. Five bucket list/accomplishments I would like to achieve? 3. What will be my biggest challenges? 4. What will I do differently this year? 5. What will be the area of focus for me?
Give this exercise a go for yourself to really get a feel of how you are living your life, to regroup and organize your thoughts for the upcoming year. Take the time to celebrate you even when you are not a fan of birthdays! Give your birthday a new meaning and REMEMBER age is just a number, how you feel
within is all that matters! Tell me below, what are you most looking forward to this year? I am most looking forward to launching my website and creating more YouTube content.
