ON FINDING MYSELF NAKED

I left the house several times over the past few weeks, only to realise, I was naked. No, it wasn’t like one of those dreams where you wake up in a cold sweat thinking you’ve forgotten your pants. I was wearing clothes! However, without realising it, I had ventured out without a single piece of jewellery on. Pretty embarrassing when you are editor of an online jewellery publication and profess to have an uncontrollable passion for the stuff. The reason? The summer-to-winter wardrobe transition that left my head as fuzzy as the chunky knits I’ve been choosing to wear. But rather that making excuses, we’ve come up with some savvy ways to style your jewels all winter-long.

ON FAMILY AFFAIRS

More often than not jewellery is associated with family. Engagement rings symbolise new family ties, heirlooms are passed down from generation to generation and people often have fond memories of their mothers jewels. The skills and passion of those who work within the jewellery industry are also often inherited from previous generations. In the latest interviews on INDTL, we learned how family connections were core to the success of four luxury brands; Astley Clarke, Geoffreys London, Messika and Patrick Mavros..

ON 2014

I’d like to thank everyone who has featured, supported and contributed to INDTL this past year. We have had some fantastic press. To the inspiring people that share their stories and to our amazing readers, we wish you all a very happy 2015.
