I know the Emmys are so two weeks ago, but I have some seriously gorgeous Mary Kay makeup products to share with you today! You might remember that Sarah Hyland’s “Brilliantly Bold” makeup was my favorite Emmys red carpet look. When worn together, the Mary Kay products in this post can help recreate her gorgeous makeup.

The products I’ve tried recently from Mary Kay have blown me away in terms of quality, longevity, and ease of application, so when given the opportunity to review and swatch this selection for you all, I jumped at the chance. Please keep reading to see my thoughts- especially if you’ve been curious to try more from Mary Kay!

For your reference, here is a reminder of the look:

First up are the eye products! Strong brows were a vital part of Sarah Hyland’s look- check out what Mary Kay recommends:

Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in I <3 Black ($15.00): Having used and loved the original Lash Love mascara, I was so excited to try this lengthening version. This will be a great option for those of you who prefer defining mascaras- it offers great separation and length, though I was disappointed in the volume department. This pairs beautifully with the Essence I <3 Extreme Crazy Volume mascara.

Brow Gel in Clear ($10.00): I had high hopes for this little guy, but sadly he leaves my brows pretty stiff and…. *crunchy* (hate using that word in regard to eyebrows, blech). I dislike that obvious brow gel feeling every time I move my forehead, so I think I’ll be looking elsewhere for a product to keep my brows in place. If any of you have tried this and had a better experience, please let me know!

Brow Definer Pencil in Brunette ($11.00): Now THIS self-sharpening pencil is what you need for this fall’s strong, thick brow trend. The shade Brunette is not too warm, not too cool, and doesn’t fade during the middle of the day. For extra staying power: try prepping brows with a translucent eyeshadow primer before applying your brow product (I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance).

Next, we have cheeks:

Mineral Cheek Color in Bold Berry ($12.00): Everything about this golden plummy pink blush screams fall to me. There are seriously few things that make me happier than a vampy lip, nude eyes, and a gorgeously flushed cheek as the weather cools down. In terms of quality, this blush is smooth, pigmented, and lasts all day- love.

Finally, a sparkling, warm berry lip to finish off the look:

Wearing the lip liner in Neutral & creme lipstick in Whipped Berries

Creme Lipstick in Whipped Berries ($15.00): This sheer-but-buildable shade of plummy rose is a beautiful finishing touch to this fall-inspired look. While called a “creme lipstick”, Whipped Berries actually sports a satin finish (which is much more accurate, in my opinion). It’s the type of lipstick that has that “enhancing” effect on your lips: it makes them appear fuller, lightly shiny, and 100% kissable. I love its buildable coverage for getting exactly the kind of look I want.

Lip Liner in Neutral ($12.00): This warm mauve-colored lip liner doesn’t totally suit my skin tone on its own, but I’m obsessed with it when worn all over the lips, underneath Whipped Berries lipstick. I personally like to apply one coat of a translucent lip balm prior to applying this (it helps prevent any tugging/unevenness).

Now let’s look at swatches:

From L-R: Brunette brow definer, Bold Berry blush (heavy and blended out), Neutral lip liner, Whipped Berries lipstick

Overall thoughts:

If I had to choose, my favorites out of this mix would include the Brunette Brow Definer, Bold Berries Blush and Whipped Berries Lipstick- they are absolutely essential shades for transitioning to fall. My least favorite, which you can probably guess, is the Clear Brow Gel. That being said, 5 out of 6 products here get a solid rating- I think that says something.

If you fell in love with any of these products, they are available individually (not as a set, unfortunately) via the Mary Kay website.

What Mary Kay products are you loving?

If you haven’t tried any recently, I’d love to know what other makeup brands are on your radar (Charlotte Tilbury, anyone?)! XOX
