Recent happenings (May/June 2014)

This week, I’m taking a mini “vacation” from my life in Chicago to spend some time with family and friends in Napa, California (my hometown). I have been such a bad blogger these last couple of weeks since I graduated college, and I cannot apologize enough- I think I lost a bit of the *blogging bug* and needed some “me time,” if that makes sense. That being said, I’m so very excited to get back into the swing of things! I have lots of beauty blog posts in the queue, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Since I have been absent from the blog for a little while, I wanted to share what I’ve been up to in the last couple of weeks- from going to my first Cub’s baseball game to exploring the Lincoln Park Zoo, it’s been fun trying on my “tourist” hat!

• I reunited with my best friend yesterday and we took a (short) road trip to San Francisco! These first two pictures were taken at Baker Beach, which is on the north part of the Presidio (a national park right next to the Golden Gate Bridge). It’s so chilly and foggy around the Bay!
• My cat, Turbo, and I also had a reunion this week, so of course I have to take as many pictures as possible before I leave… I’m biased, but he’s so photogenic!
• I snapped this photo during my graduation ceremony a couple of weeks ago. Such a bittersweet yet exciting moment!
• One of my closest guy friends works at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, so last week I went to visit him. The Shedd is part of Museum Campus (across from where the Bears stadium is), which is a prime picture-taking spot in the city!
• These little garden eels at the Shedd Aquarium were so cute! They bury into the sand and hang out there.

• We recently celebrated my roommate’s birthday at the Signature Room at the 95th, which is a restaurant/bar on top of the Hancock Building. Everyone was so funny trying to take pictures with flash against the glass windows! I had to join in, though, as the view of Chicago was just gorgeous.
• The day after my graduation, my family and I went to our first Cub’s baseball game! And surprise- they actually won.
• The inevitable happened: my sister got a hot dog. Apparently it tasted just as good as it looked!
• My boyfriend and I took a quick trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo last weekend. The meerkats are always some of my favorites! They were so cute cuddling with each other.
