How to Style Lace in the Winter

The pant itself is black faux leather while the lace embroidery is a navy blue thus bringing lace right into the winter, with a darker, more moody version of the fabric.

As I'm writing this post, I'm checking out the weather forecast for the next few weeks and it's not looking good for those of us in Canada! While we were all hoping for the same lazy arrival of winter like we had last year, it seems we're about to get some snow in December after all. Damn you winter! I'm not wearing my fall outfits yet!

My favorite part of summer (other than killer tans and patio days) is wearing sheer fabrics. They're fun, they're loose, and they look great in every occasion. I tend to style lace fabric well into fall by layering it with other items. But how do you carry lace into the winter season? Seems like a ridiculous task to undertake but not an impossible one.

The lace design in this look is not a sheer lace but an embroidered one. This one on a pair of pants I got from Zara was embroidered directly unto the faux leather fabric. The pant itself is black faux leather while the lace embroidery is a navy blue thus bringing lace right into the winter, with a darker, more moody version of the fabric. The faux leather is also nice and warm for when it gets crazy cold. Ugh.

To stay extra cozy, I've gone with a few underneath layers. A basic white tee, a blazer (I found on the floor of H&M during a sale and scored it for $5!), and a Wilfred faux shearling vest. This vest is a great option for staying warm indoors or in the car but can be layered with a jacket over it.

So there you have it! Who says lace is for summers only? I say wear the hell out of that fabric any time of the year, just make sure to bring an extra pair of legging ;)

Toodles,

Inessa
