Colorful Fall Entertaining
There’s so much to love about fall. Today, I’ve put together several colorful fall entertaining decor ideas along with a delicious and easy recipe for Pumpkin Muffins with Maple Glaze. I hope my table, decorating ideas, and entertaining tips inspire you to enjoy this delightful season.
Over the past month or so, I’ve taken a design break with my apartment. There’s still so much I want to do. I just needed a breather to collect my thoughts and make more plans for the space. With the arrival of fall, I’m excited to get back to work and finish some of the projects on my to-do list. I say this because (as you’ve probably noticed), I’ve been sharing my little dining area a lot lately. I suppose it’s a reflection of my excitement about my new table and chairs. It’s also been loads of fun to create different table decor ideas.
Last week, I wrote a post for the HomeGoods Design Happy blog which featured this colorful and modern tablescape complete with a tasty fall pumpkin treat. I was so pleased with it that I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it.
The idea for the table began with this colorful plaid tablecloth I found at HomeGoods. To be honest, I’m typically not big on tablecloths, but I saw this one in the store and immediately fell in love with the color. From there, the rest of the table quickly came together.
Once again, I decided to include my pink plates from West Elm. (Friends, please know I tried hard to resist the whole millennial pink trend, but I simply adore how the color looks for fall.)
From there, I kept things casual by using a cutting board and cake stand (also HomeGoods finds) to build a centerpiece where I could create a collection for practical, beautiful, and easy entertaining.
My pumpkin muffins went on the cake stand, and the additional plates, napkins, and cutlery are handy for last minute guests.
This fall has been warmer than usual so I decided to incorporate local blooms in colors to match my tablecloth. A basket of pears and plums from the farmers market brings in traditional yet unexpected seasonal color.
Finally, a scattering of seasonal pumpkins and gourds (both real and ceramic) complete my autumn-inspired table.
What do you think?
I love this kind of tablescape because, but it’s relaxed and at the same time, cohesive, seasonal, and welcoming.
And don’t get me started on those pumpkin muffins. I know they look innocent, but they taste heavenly, and they are simple to whip up. They are perfect for breakfast but will work equally well for an afternoon snack with tea or coffee.
If you’re after the recipe for these Pumpkin Muffins with Maple Glaze, I’ll be sharing it here on IBC very soon. In the meantime, you can grab it over on the HomeGoods blog here.
Thanks for joining me on IBC today. I hope you enjoyed my colorful fall entertaining ideas. What colors and styles are you in love with this season?
