Halloween Mantel Decor to Die For

With Halloween a mere two weeks away, I'm making every effort to share additional tricks for celebrating All Hallow's Eve in style. (You can find more of my Halloween ideas here.) This past week, I decided to focus on Halloween mantel decor and dress up my fireplace. I'm so excited to share that with you today.

Halloween Mantel Decor Ideas:

This is the first time I've decorated one of the mantels in my Pittsburgh house with such intention, and I think it turned out pretty cute .... er, creepy!

The direction for this Halloween mantel decor was inspired by skeletons, skulls, and bones. In fact, the skeleton hands that I got from Grandin Road were the main inspiration for the entire look.

From there, I used lots of things I already had on hand. (If you saw my Spooky Chic Halloween Table, a few of the accessories might look familiar.)

I think the skeleton hands stole the show, however. Created to look like a peace sign, thumbs up, and a hand heart, they actually make skeletons look cool and cute.

I also love this thick rope corded cage light I found at HomeGoods. The light is functional so I often turn it on at night. However, I opted to keep it off during the photo session to keep the glow from being a distraction.

Some books bring in height and a few of my Plush Pumpkins gave a pop of color and a fall feel.

Spider Web Halloween Mantel Decor Ideas:

To finish off the mantel, I covered everything with inexpensive faux spider webs. This is an easy and cost-effective way to make something feel old and eerie.

With a few of the skull candles lit, the effect is truly sinister.

I also decided to decorate the bar cart, which I had recently added to this space. (This is the bar cart I purchased.) Since this is the room where people tend to gather, I thought it was the perfect place to serve drinks.

To dress up the cart for Halloween, I used creepy cat eyeballs. These are from Grandin Road. They are a new variation on the ones I used last year to style my Halloween dining table.
