What’s the Tea with IBC

You’ve probably noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here this week. During the first four weeks of March, I created more than 21 posts which averages to about 5 posts per week. For one person, that’s a lot of content. I was so busy creating and writing that I forgot to look up and totally ran into a brick wall this week. I didn’t want you to think I dropped off the face of the earth, so I thought I’d pop back in with a little update post jut to chat about life and share a few housekeeping things. Sound good?

First, speaking of post writing, I had this idea to start a series here on IBC called ‘Behind the Blog’. Basically it would be a look at how blogging works, what I do on a daily basis, how blogging has changed over the years, etc. It’s not so much a tutorial on how to become a blogger (or be a better blogger), but more about how things work, why bloggers do what they do, how you can support your favorite bloggers, etc. Is this something you’d have an interest in reading?

Second, next week I’m launching a new/updated newsletter. In my continued effort to improve and try new things, the IBC newsletter will now be a weekly publication that comes out on Tuesdays. The newsletter will serve as a recap for all the content from the past week and include a personal note from me as well as a few other tidbits exclusive to the weekly email list. If you’re not subscribed to the IBC Mailing List, I hope you’ll do so by clicking here. For those of you who want daily updates, you always have the option getting blog posts delivered by email on a daily basis via FeedBurner. Click here to do that. (Then click on ‘Get Inspired by Charm’ delivered by email in the ‘Subscribe Now!’ box at the top of the page.) I’m really excited about this newsletter update. I think it will be a fun and new way to connect without clogging up your inboxes. Be sure to subscribe.

Third, even though I did hit a bit of a blogging wall this week, I already climbed over it, so content will resume next week. As I’ve mentioned here, I am looking forward to sharing more design, DIY, and home decor content in the very near future. To be honest with you, I’ve been struggling with design and home decor lately. While it always has been (and always will) be a passion for me, I feel that my love for so many different design styles coupled with the pressure to “be perfect” has my design sense in a completely confused funk. Overall, I guess I’m just not feeling confident about what I’m creating. (I may also write about all of this, so stay tuned for more.) However, I have two big projects coming up that involve redecorating my guest bedrooms. Plus, something even bigger on the horizon, which leads me to my next point…

And finally, I have a very exciting (but equally nerve-racking) life update (It’s a follow-up to my Sun-Dried Tomatoes post.) I think it will charge me and IBC up in the best possible way. *fingers crossed* I’m so happy to finally be able to share what’s happening in the coming months. This update is coming on Monday, so stop back then for the big announcement.

With all that said, consider yourself caught up. I’m also linking up a few of my favorite things from around the web this week. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
