I am also using some great new products from Hero Arts – they make me so happy! More on that below.
Vellum can be colored easily with many dye and hybrid inks. Just apply the ink and be sure to wipe away the excess ink and heat set a bit. You can repeat the process to make the colors darker. For these examples, I used a cloth to add areas of color to the vellum to make it look like a sky. I found the Hero Arts Hybrid Inks were great for this!
I used the vellum to create a card front, along with a flap made with a cloud die from the Hero Arts Cloud Nesting Die Set. I added some adorable images from the Hero Arts Raining Cats & Dogs and Hero Arts Fun In the Rain Stamp Sets. I kept the coloring simple but shimmery by using my Tombow Dual Brush Markers along with a Wink of Stella Shimmer Pen.
I did a similar design but with a “floating” cloud on the vellum front. This one uses stamps from the Hero Arts Fun In the Rain Stamp Set.
This particular vellum has a parchment look to it – it comes in the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Kit. So pretty when you add color!
Another sky-colored vellum example… along with images from the Hero Arts February My Monthly Hero Kit stamp set. I really like how you can use images from this set to create a bunch of uplifting scenes.
For my last example, I used a die cut from the Hero Arts Cloud Nesting Die Set along with a circle die cut to create a sun scene. I masked off inking to create the rays on the vellum. Pretty quick to do!
There are many ways to color vellum – give it a try!
