Video: Fingerprint Cards (Jennifer McGuire Ink)

Hi there! Today’s video shows how to create fingerprint cards. These are fun cards that you can create for kids or with your kids! My son helped me with the cards I’m sharing here today. I love getting them involved while I’m crafting.

Colin (8 years old) and I started out by dabbing our finger on a pigment ink pad and then lightly pressing it on white cardstock. (Pigment ink pads work best for this because it cleans off your finger easily so you can move on to a different color faster. However, you can use any ink you want. We used a variety of ink colors from Avery Elle and Mama Elephant.) Next, we stamped some fun images from the In Print stamp set by Clearly Besotted on top of the thumbprint impression to create critters. This set is so clever. If you don’t have the set, you could draw your own.

We stamped a greeting under each image using the Clearly Besotted In Print set, along with the Birthday Farm Animals, Circle Friends, and Quite the Pear sets from Simon Says Stamp. (Mixing greetings and images from different stamp sets together is a great way to get more use out of them!) We trimmed each image down using a circle die. We die cut a slightly smaller out of white fun foam to put behind each larger circle. This gives it even dimension.

We adhered all of the circles on to a variety of Lawn Fawn notecards. These cards have great patterns and in a fun, smaller size. To finish off these cards, we added googly eyes and a few stamped bows.

Aren’t these cards fun!? I think they would make the perfect cards for your kids to pass out for Valentine’s Day, too.

One more thing: In the video I shared how I am trying out having my Glossy Accents and Matte Multi Medium in Fineline Glue Bottles. So far I am liking this system. However, I need to use it a bit more to say for sure. Also, I have a few more bottles and systems to try out. I promise to keep you posted.
