Glamping Beauty ❤

In about one month we pack up the Airstream and head into Montana for a 10 day winter road trip. We’ll be staying at the Whitefish RV Resort and I am so excited! Hubby told me last night that is has been snowing a lot in Whitefish. I’m crossing my fingers that the snow will stick around when we arrive because I honestly love a wintery picturesque campground.

“Will we be able to build a snowman mommy?” B asks me

“If the snow stays, we can build 10 snowmen,” I tell him.

“Yay!”

I had a chance to get into the Airstream this weekend to start readying her for our big trip. I started in the bathroom by removing things I hadn’t used in a while and filling up my new cosmetic case (which I absolutely adore). I knew when I saw it in the store sitting on the shelf all by its lonesome self that it belonged to me. I could give it a good home and home with me it went :)

A few items I most definitely did not remove was my trusty little traveling Clarisonic sonic facial brush, face wash by Origins and facial oil by Fresh. These three are my morning and nighttime rituals at home and when we bought our first Airstream back in 2010, these three were the first items to live in the bathroom.

Here is what lives in my little travel cosmetic case:

1) Laura Mercier Lip Plumper in Lychee. That little tube was a tester, the full size lives at home. Sadly, this color (clear) is no longer in production and the people who have some in stock know it so the price is, well, pricey. LM does have other beautiful colors though. Here is the Lychee and here are the other colors.

2) I recently discovered the website Rank & Style and oh my — that site is invaluable. It’s basically a rundown of the best products from beauty, to shoes and clothing in a “Top 10,” list form. They find out what the best of the best are based on mathematical proof by running an algorithm that checks out how many rave reviews a product has received, how many times it has been repurchased and how many stars it has received. That is how I discovered Dr. Jarts BB — Beauty Balm. I’ve been a long time loyal Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer wearer until last week. This beauty balm is a dream. Beauty balm is basically like tinted moisturizer but on steroids. It contains vitamins and essential oils for your skin in addition to sunscreen and other goodies. I love it so.

3) Three very important words: Smith’s Rosebud Salve. I can’t live without this. I have one in my car, one in my purse, one next to my bed at home and one in the Airstream. It smells like roses but ever so slightly. I use it on my lips. I use it on B’s lips. I put it on my cuticles before I go to bed. It works wonders for flyaway winter hair and makeup remover too. I just love it!

4) Diorshow Waterproof Mascara. Because winter sports will not be kind to regular mascara, this waterproof formula is my favorite.

5) Laura Mercier high coverage concealer. Relatively new to the market, this is a total keeper. It covers, de-puffs and brightens dark under eye circles and when she says only a pin head sized drop is all you need, she’s not kidding.

6) Nivea cream. I’ve been using this ever since I was a pre-teen thanks to my (grandmother) babichka (ba-beach-kah) who used to come and visit me in the United States all the way from (then) Czechslovakia and bring me a tube. I cherished that tube and used it sparingly — making sure it would last until the next time she would come to visit. Now I can buy it here.

7) Lolita Lempicka is my favorite fragrance. I’ve been wearing it forever and my daughter who is now 23 tells me that whenever she smells it, it reminds her of her childhood. How sweet ❤ and just as sweet and beautifully moving is this Lolita Lempicka video starring Elle Fanning (sister to Dakota). She is perfectly perfect to play the role in a fairytale clip and movie (Maleficient starring next to Angelina Jolie). I adore her.

8) Laura Mercier lip stain in Scarlett. Ebay is the only place to find this now, but it’s so worth the hunt. I use it as a lip stain and cheek stain. Love multi-use products.

9) They say a well defined brow sets the stage for a beautiful balanced face. Looking back on photos when I was an eyebrow plucking maniac, that saying is very, very true. I visited my local Nordstroms a couple years ago and had my brows professionally shaped and learned a thing or two, like the arch in your brows comes from above your brow, not from below. This pencil was recommended to me and I’ve been a loyal user ever since.

10) And when you’ve groomed your brows, a shimmering highlighting accent right on your brow bones is quite beautiful! THIS is the new rage I hear and I’ve got it on order since my Urban Decay little purple tube is almost empty.

11) One squeeze of this eyelash curler, a quick stroke of mascara and I’m set. Love the fun color combo here.

In closing, if someone asked me if I were deserted on a tropical island and could only bring one beauty product with me, which would it be? Definitely Dr. Jarts BB cream. No question.

Thank you for being here :)

xoxo
Monica
