Beauty Bridge: Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar
Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar palette caused quite a stir when it came out. Now Too Faced is teasing us with the next instalment, the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar. Although this palette came out in the US last year, it doesn’t arrive on British shores till September. Why I do not know. I am lucky enough to have got my hands on it thanks to Beauty Bridge.
Beauty Bridge is an online beauty retailer from across the pond (there is one store located in New Jersey actually) which stocks a number of top brands including one of my personal favourites, Too Faced. Beauty Bridge also ships worldwide, which means us folks in Ol’ Blighty can get hold of exciting products like the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar before they get here.
Now let’s take a moment to admire this palette. Too Faced’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar is a deeper, warmer version of Beauty Bridge’s best-selling palette and is packed with 16 antioxidant-rich, cocoa powder-infused matte and shimmer shades of warm caramels, deep mochas, bronzy chocolate hues and a pop of sugared blueberry.
Like its sister palette, the smell of sweet chocolate envelopes you from the moment you open the tin case. That alone is a winner in my books. As for the eyeshadows, the quality is divine with unbelievably soft, pigmented shades that go on effortlessly with no creasing. The iridescent Pink Sugar is a little weak however and is a creme formula (I struggled to get a decent swatch of it).
For this look I used Coconut Cream as a highlighter, swept Caramel on the eyelids, used Puddin’ along the crease with a smidgen of Hot Fudge on the outer corners.
I reckon this is going to be my go-to palette for the spring/summer season. It’s such a flattering ensemble of shades and so versatile as a palette.
The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette is $52 on Beauty Bridge (about £33). International standard shipping charges star from $11.95 (for orders up to $74.99) but this does not include the impending import taxes so bear that in mind. If you live in the States then you’re lucky as delivery is free for orders over $49.
