Summer lovin’ from Bourjois

Summer is definitely here with the days getting hotter and the nights stickier and as we’re set for a heatwave this week, I thought I would take the opportunity to show off Bourjois’ latest seasonal offerings*.

This little collection is sorbet and pastel inspired, colours to cool off as the sun toasts your tan. Among the new additions, there are three new 1 Seconde Nail Enamel colours, six new shades in the hydrating lip gloss Sweet Kiss Gloss and four new Aqua Blushes.

The pastel glossy nail colours are my favourite. From left to right we have: Pink-Itude (49), Palm Beach (51) and Blue Lagoon (50), the kind of summery colours that will have you dreaming about lazing on a sun lounger by the pool.

Moving on, the new Aqua Blush is a neat little blusher in an ultra-fluid gel. The one thing most of us dread when it comes to wearing make-up in the summer is the conflict with the heat melting it. The Aqua Blush is a fresh and light way of adding a touch of colour without feeling like you’ve been caked in something.

Like your wardrobe, your make-up needs to change with the season and Bourjois has addressed the need with these ingenious little bottles that just need one pump to give you enough product for a natural blush but feel as if you’re wearing your own skin. The actual colours look a bit terrifying but they’re very sheer. You just apply it with your finger and it blends in quickly without leaving a mark. It claims to last for 12 hours but that’s not something I am particularly bothered about nor do I pay much attention to such statements.

Any way this is Cocoricorail (02) – a warm peach – and Pink Twice (3) – a sugary baby pink:

Clever and cute, I’ll definitely be taking these with me to Barcelona in September when I’m lounging by the roof-top pool of my hotel.

Finally the Sweet Kiss Gloss is Bourjois’ assurance that lip gloss in the heat does not have to be sticky. I’m a loyal fan of Bourjois’ lip glosses so I had strong hopes for Sweet Kiss Gloss. These contain a vegetable oil-enriched serum formula to moisturise and pamper lips. With a brush applicator the product glides on smoothly. I have to say I don’t feel self-conscious that there’s something on my lips. These are deeply flattering for all skin tones, lightweight and add that all important shine to the pout.

In total there are six translucent shades. Below is As De Pink (03) and Incogni-Rose (04).

And there we have it…minimal fuss and minimal baggage from Bourjois for a fresh, radiant look this summer. They always know how to deliver – it’s why I love Bourjois so much.
