All New HQ!

From the home of Tess Guinery via Design Sponge

I know it may seem like I moved into the last Jungalow HQ not that long ago…but the fact of the matter is, I always knew that place was a temporary fix. The old space was in a big warehouse with little privacy and zero climate control. It worked well for a while since it was so close to my old house, but now that we moved casas I decided to put my stuff in storage over the summer, save a few bucks and a few headaches, and look for a new studio space come fall. Here we are now in mid September, and sure enough I’ve just found a new space one block from my new house (yay for no commute!). In pictures the old space looked pretty big thanks to those high ceilings, but it was just under 400 Sq. ft. The new studio is twice that size and feels like a real live design studio. Little by little as things come together I look at myself, this life and job that I’ve created and I’m like “woah! this is legit!!”

Today I thought I’d share some inspiration for the new space. We still have most of our furniture from the last studio so I will be repurposing a lot, but It’s fun to think about new ways to make this space really functional for me and my team–especially as we grow and move into doing lots more product design. I love these desks at Nickey Kehoe’s office. That added storage up top looks so clean and so functional.

This idea may have to wait a bit…but I love the idea of getting custom shelving built that also acts as a partition for the space. Now our space isn’t nearly this large but something along these lines could still work. I will, of course, keep you posted as we begin to settle in to the new space.
