Makeup Medley #17.

It’s time to empty out the contents of my makeup bag to see what I’ll be wearing this month – I actually had a huge declutter again this weekend so I have lots of new in treats to chat about. Saying goodbye to old makeup is so upsetting, but you just have to move on and find new bits to love. It’s the only way.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation Concealer (£25); this is a new release from the brand and something I was truly excited about trialling. I really do love Clinique foundations, they offer great coverage with a natural finish and there’s something for everyone – and quite a big shade range too. Their new Beyond Perfecting foundation doubles up as a concealer, it has an interesting doe-foot applicator so you can sweep it on for a bit of coverage where you need it (blemishes, redness, uneven tone or whatever) or apply it all over the face for a more even, perfected result. It’s quite good coverage, just over medium I would say, and the formula is oil-free and doesn’t clog pores. I find less is more with this stuff, and so far I’m a fan!

Bobbi Brown Calypso Cheek Palette (£34); does a palette so flawless really need an introduction? I do love a pretty, perky cheek palette and Bobbi Brown have really outdone themselves with this beautiful release. There are three coral shades in the Calypso kit – Pretty Coral is a lovely bright blusher, the middle shade ‘Calypso’ is a shimmery highlight with lovely flecks of gold, and there’s also Coral Sugar, another bright but wearable matte blush shade. I am pretty smitten with all three, and it’s the product to transition my makeup in to Spring.

Illamasqua Precision Brow Gel (£18.50); a new Illamasqua release is always something to get excited about – especially when it comes to brows. Admittedly, I did not need another brow gel in my stash, but I have fallen for this creamy wonder pretty quickly. I have the shade Strike which is quite dark and very ashy, ideal as I’ve just dyed my hair ash brown again. It’s super easy to sweep through and shape the brows, giving them a whole lotta oomph that can be brushed out for a really natural finish. Defined brows in seconds!

Benefit High Brow (£15.50); true fact – I’ve never owned Benefit’s High Brow before! When I got it through in the post recently, I was a little bit excited as I’ve heard so much about its highlighting ways. I was not disappointed. Adding a little of this arch-inducing pencil on my brow bone really accentuates my brows and adds a lovely soft glow to my makeup. I also add a little bit on the inner corner of my eyes – easy peasy, and it makes all the difference.

Burberry Kisses Lipstick in English Rose (£25); Burberry have released a new line of lip colours and let me tell you, they are right up my street. Buildable, wearable colour that hydrates the lips, and a super creamy formula that plumps and looks effortless – I have the shade English Rose and it’s just so understated and easy to pull off. Definitely check out these if you haven’t already, the formula is brilliant.

What are you trialling this month?

Ps. You see that perfect mint planner? I’m stocking them in my shop when it launches. Yup.
