How To Wear a Caftan in the Winter

I write this fully knowing that you on the East Coast (in particular) will want to slap me.

Life is better in silk and faux fur. What? Girl you know it’s true. #sorrynotsorry But seriously, let’s face it, comfort is luxury and luxury is comfort. Who doesn’t want to feel wrapped in a hug all day? And like they’re wearing pajamas? If you have to leave your bed in the winter, you might as well be cozy, amiright?

And while one might associate caftans with summer, I say caftanning needn’t be a seasonal pursuit.

I prefer to wear caftans year-round. Silky ones anyway.

Here’s how I wore a caftan in the Kelso Sand Dunes on our desert roadtrip through the Mojave a few weeks ago.

Speaking of soft, I kicked off my heels and felt the softest sand between my toes.

The Kelso Sand Dunes were absolutely magical.

And our version of snow, for those of us, like me, who are experiencing serious Snow FOMO right now.

I know, I know, there’s probably another F word other than FOMO that you’re thinking of right now, friends outside of California.

But back to how to winterize a caftan…

Simply add a faux fur coat and some glittering pumps and you are set for winter caftanning.

Winter in California anyway. Have you mastered the fine art of caftanning year-round?
