Iron Craft #10 - E is for...

This week's challenge:

"Ok you guys, I loved what you did so much with the letter “D” that I was really excited to move on and see what you could do with “E”. I have elevated expectations that everyone will engender excellent enterprises." (Courtesy of Just Crafty Enough)

"E" was more difficult than I had first imagined.

I thought and thought about this and came up with....

Empire!

Here is my first attempt at a crocheted dress (with an Empire cut).

Aaaaaannnndddd... of course I have my camera in front of the empire waist part.

Better? Sorta...

Anyhoo - it was actually really easy to make. A lot of netting type rounds. I ended up putting ribbon through the middle to define the empire waist more than the pattern called for. I really don't like dress that just fit over me because they end up looking like a tent. So the ribbon was a much needed touch.

And for some reason, this photo doesn't want to rotate. Whatever. I'm the world's worst selfie taker. You get the idea. I'm very pleased with the way this turned out and will get lots of use out of it for sure this summer.

Here is the link to my Ravelry project page.

And if you'd like to see what all the other Iron Crafters did with the letter E - check out the Flickr Group.
