Fabulous Room Friday 03.13.15

Happy Friday! With Saint Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I thought it only right to feature a room swathed in glorious green today. But it’s not just any green– it’s Brunschwig et Fils’ Les Touches! This gorgeous bedroom is a guest room at the Palm Springs home of designer Michael S Smith and his partner, James Costos, the U.S. Ambassador to Spain as featured in the April issue of Architectural Digest. In an ode to the iconic interiors of decades past, Smith selected the same fabric for the upholstered walls, canopy bed, and bed skirt. Les Touches is one of my favorite fabrics, though I am yet to use it in green in any of my projects, which is a little surprising since I love green so much. This ultra-chic room has inspired me to do so very soon. The iconic pattern serves as an ideal backdrop for colorful abstract art, a mix of modern and traditional furnishings, and a few other patterns, including the pretty floral upholstery on the sofa. The overall look is definitely bold, but it is super chic! After all, what is the fun of having a vacation home, especially in a glamorous location like Palm Springs, if you can’t have a little fun with the decor? Have a wonderful weekend!
