Fabulous Room Friday 08.07.15

Over the past few weeks, I have seen this incredibly chic bedroom by Australian designer, Cameron Kimber pop up in both my Pinterest and Instagram feeds. Each time I see it, it stops me in my tracks and I take a little time to study all of the exquisite details. I hesitated to post it, afraid that you may have already seen it, but I love it too much not to. I don’t always love the very traditional treatment of using the same fabric on the walls and various upholstered items, but the small scale of this beautiful blue fabric works perfectly. The key to doing all over pattern like this is to keep everything else a bit more minimal. The fabric becomes the showpiece of the space while all of the other elements work in harmony with it. You’ll notice a couple of other patterned fabrics, but they are in the same color family. The furniture is classic and timeless while elements such as crisp, white upholstery, wall to wall seagrass and natural fiber baskets, and blue and white porcelain add a relaxed element to the otherwise tailored room. The combination makes for a room that is completely chic, yet feels effortless and inviting. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind spending the weekend in this gorgeous room!
