I’m sure you must have heard of Shupette by now, especially if you’re a beauty addict like me! While I don’t really see how a white, fluffy feline is associated with eyeshadow palettes, I definitely like the Shupette Has-It-All Eye & Lip Palette! If you’re tired of all the neutral palettes circulating around and are looking for something more interesting to bring with you on travels, I think the Shupette one could inject some fun into your life!

This was a gift from Mr. Ratatouille (he knows me well) during Christmas, and the moment I got it, I knew I had to make a tutorial on how you can use it! There are 8 eyeshadow shades arranged in 2 sets of quads, 6 lip colours, 2 applicators and a big mirror that spans the underside of the entire lid. And here’s how you can use it to create a purple and gold eye makeup look:

Highlight the brow bone and add some base colour to the eyes (Steps 1-3).

Before you do anything to your eyes, always have foundation and concealor on first. Then, follow the steps below.

1. Highlight the brow bone with the light gold shimmer shade.

2. Dust the grey-purple shade on your entire upper lid under the brow bone. This creates a slight depth and shows off the hollows of your eye socket.

3. Next, apply the brinjal shade on your entire upper lid until around the crease. You can go a little further higher than that, but no more than the grey-purple shade in the previous step.

Add some glitter and shadow (Steps 4-6)!

4. Using your fourth finger, press some pink shimmer onto the brinjal shade to make it sparkly. Here, I’m using the eyeshadow duo from Laneige‘s Sparkling Beauty Limited Edition Collection.

5. Next, press on gold shimmer flakes onto the middle of the upper eye lid to complete the sparkly effect. This step is what really helps to open up your eyes.

6. Add the last bit of shadow to contour your eyes. Take the matte black shade from the Shupette palette and apply it on the outer one-third of your eyelid. Make sure that you do not go higher up than the brinjal eyeshadow (that would be overdoing it).

Add the finishing touches (Steps 7-10).

7. Line the upper and lower lids with a purple liner. Here, I’m using the Agnès B Liner Metallic Crayon Liner Eyeliner Pencil in 1519 Brun Métal. When lining the lower lid, place more definition on the outer one-third of the line, and soften things up as you go inwards.

8. Add the finishing touches to your face! Fill in your brows, curl your lashes and add mascara. I always use Guerlain‘s Méteorites in 03 Medium on the middle of my forehead, nose bridge, chin and cheekbones. Because of the light reflecting property of the product, this step really helps you to stand out in photographs!

9. Add volume to your hair. If you’ve lost trust in hair volumising products or serums that didn’t deliver what they promised, try dry shampoo. It’s one of my best kept secrets to give life to limp hair in a quick, fuss-free way. Make sure the product is dispersed near the roots of the hair strands and don’t put too much, as you can end up looking like you’re 100 years old, if you know what I mean. I’m currently loving the Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo from Alterna.

10. Applying lip colour is always the final step in any of my makeup routine. A pretty pink shade will pull the whole look together. I’m using the Lip Colour in shade HALA from 3CE, a beauty brand that I discovered while shopping in Seoul.

The final look.

The final look is one that can be used for day or evening, even if you’re not usually comfortable with smokey eyes. It’s not dramatic, so it’s pretty safe to carry off. To take this from day to night, simply apply the brinjal shade to a larger proportion of the upper lid, complete it with more black eyeshadow and wear a good pair falsies!

I hope you’ll try this one out and let me know how it goes for you. If you do have any requests or questions, feel free to either leave me a comment or drop me an email.

Stay gorgeous,

Roxanne
