tell me do you miss me

Wood Wood jeans (available here), Galaxie 500 tee, vintage jacket from Painted Bird in LA (similar here), Rachel Antonoff x Bass shoes (available here), vintage rhinestone choker and rose quartz from Spellbound Sky (similar here)
Yes, I'm wearing these Wood Wood jams from my last post, which apparently re-wearing clothes is sorta verboten in the blog world?? Luckily I don't care. I can't take these jeans off! I want to wear them every single day with every single outfit. If you had asked me a year ago if I'd want to wear nothing except jeans, I'd have looked at you like you were covered in krokodil. But here I am, in jeans, and I am LOVING IT*~*~.
The Galaxie 500 tee comes from the Bathysphere shoegaze fest in Minneapolis that I went to over the summer. Galaxie 500 wasn't performing, but Dean and Britta were performing Galaxie songs, and I got sort of misty, thinking about how I've waited to hear those songs live for almost 10 years. I picked up a total of 5 band tees at that fest, and all of them are special because that shoegaze fest is where John proposed to me.
A NOTE ABOUT WHITE T-SHIRTS: A lot of people seem to be haters of white t-shirts. I mean, I get it. They aren't exactly considered"cool", unless you are James Dean, which you are not. Whenever I wear a white t-shirt I'm always surprised at how many people voice their opinion of it. White tees are (perhaps unfairly) the victims of sartorial prejudice. I have had to confront my white t-shirt feelings since so many band print their merch on them. And not wearing band tees isn't an option for me. In general they do look good with dark jeans or pleated black skirt or a smashing jacket. I'm not saying you should wear something you absolutely hate but...just reconsider the white tee.
I found this velvet jacket at Painted Bird when I went to LA. LA's vintage shopping is unimaginably marvelous - soooo many treasures from the 60s and 70s, stuffed into racks in dingy hole-in-the-wall vintage stores all over Silverlake. Every time I walked into a store I found a million things I wanted to take home. This jacket was an inexpensive little find. I love the totally useless fabric attachment on the back of this thing, it makes me giggle because it serves no purpose whatsoever. Sorta reminds me of Yohji Yamamoto from like 10 years ago.

Perfect autumn shoes. I got them for cheapsies on MYHABIT and they run a half size big. I totally forgot to exchange them. Oops. Nothing that super geriatric Dr. Scholls insole won't fix! They're a little to twee for me to wear with a skirt or dress, but are really great for dressing up jeans and a tshirt.
A few beauty blips as of late (which involves...me doing nothing) - brown lipstick like it's 1999, skipping the eye makeup save for a few coats of Diorshow mascara, and going days without brushing my hair. After a couple days of product buildup and dry shampoo, my hair takes on the most idyllic texture, ratty and thick, and simply requires a splash of sea salt spray to come to life.
Also, in some housekeeping news, you may notice that I am dabbling in monetizing my blog. Selling out doesn't bother me, and I applaud other bloggers who make money from what they do, but it just never felt comfortable for me. But I've decided to start using some affiliate links and banner ads. This is because I have a wedding to pay for. And weddings cost a metric fuck ton of money! So feel free to click on the links or buy stuff through my links, it would be really awesome if you did that. Thanks.
