Weddington Way October Style Challenge

I've been invited to take part in a style challenge by Weddington Way. This month, the San Francisco-based online bridal boutique celebrates Bridal Fashion Week by hosting their October Style Challenge. So what's it about exactly? Weddington Way challenged a handful bloggers to style a complete bridesmaid look using one of their lovely bridesmaid dresses: "If you were the Maid of Honor and the bride asked you to help her style the look for her big day, what would you suggest?"
I wanted my bridesmaid look (pictured above) to be neat, but immediately appealing, so I picked an eye-catching color. What I have chosen was a cocktail length dress by Alfred Sung in an elegant shade of red, which they call 'Barcelona', with clean lines and a feminine silhouette. I thought the color Barcelona would look magnificent with gold accents and a loose updo. I opted for neutral eye makeup and nail art to keep the look as tasteful as possible while the classic red lips gave the ensemble a luxe-looking finish.

Just like a typical girl, I have been mapping out my dream wedding in my head since I can remember. Should it be held in a garden, a church, a castle? Hair up or down? High heels, definitely high heels. Roses or peonies, mixed perhaps? What should my gown look like? Give me a piece of paper and a pencil and I'm sure to draw yet another dream wedding gown. There's just something about weddings that feels enchanting to me. But designing all it in your head feels completely and insanely different from actually planning it and looking for inspirations. It's a teeny bit addictive though.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in your shoe. Paying no heed to the blue part, here are a few beautiful wedding ideas from which I drew inspiration on putting my Weddington Way bridesmaid look together:
