Budget Buy: Awesome New L’Oreal Launches

When I was last in New York, I picked up the new L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24hr Foundation and the Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Make Up Extender Setting Spray on a whim in Duane Reade. It was staring at me in the ‘new in’ section and seeing as I’m a big L’Oreal Foundation lover, I thought I would give it a whirl.
Described as a ‘demi-matte finish’ with a light feeling on the skin, as well as being an oil free formulation, I would say that hits the nail on the head. When applying the foundation, I found that it blends better with fingers rather than using a blending brush. Although you can still use a foundation brush with it, I found it looks more natural on the skin when using fingers. The foundation lasts all day with no shine appearing on the t-zone and there was no need to have a quick touch up once lunch time comes along. Plus it doesn’t cling or appear cakey around dry patches on the skin, which makes the longevity of it all that better. It leaves a luminous look to the skin, not a shiny look nor matte, but it looks natural while covering up any blemishes and redness. On top of the formulation, the packaging makes it really easy to dispense the product as it’s a squeeze tube. The only downside of the foundation is the colour range. I couldn’t find an exact shade so I have ended up mixing two shades together which are 104 Golden Beige and 106 Sun Beige.

When it comes to make-up setting sprays, I’ve never really got the hype of them when they have been raved about in the past. So when I bought the matching make-up setting spray to the foundation, I didn’t know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised as to how much it helped the overall look of my make-up. It’s a fine mist which dries within second and leaves the skin looking glowing, whereas I have tried setting sprays in the past which have felt a little too wet on the skin and almost feels like I’m removing it again. But the L’Oreal Setting Spray does the opposite of that. I simply spray it three times across my face to ensure it has covered my face. I’ve also been using it over powder foundations as it can take away the powdery look to the skin.
