Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow: The Re-Evaluation

My love affair with Charlotte Tilbury’s Film Star Bronze & Glow was a long one, it started right when the brand launched and was one of my first purchases and continued to stay strong throughout the year. As I’m constantly testing out new items, especially when it comes to contouring, it’s rare something becomes the base line for comparison against all other similar products for such a long period of time.

If you don’t know the gist Film Star Bronze & Glow is the most beautifully packaged contour & highlight duo. The contour shade is perfection for medium skin tones, it’s got a slight ashiness to it, yet nothing muddy with the ability to bronze up the face without being orange at the same time. It’s magical. Don’t even start me on the highlighter, for olive undertones like myself nothing looks quite as good as a golden highlight. This one’s finely milled, packs a punch, photographs beautifully and is buildable. Not to mention the blendable and long wearing texture. I don’t know what more you could want.

So here’s where the re-evaluation comes in, after my butter fingers dropped it on wooden floors (entirely my fault), is there something in my stash that can replace it to save myself the hefty £49 price tag. There’s certainly alternatives but nothing quite like this. Nothing that gets the perfect balance between bronzed and contour and no highlight that looks quite as good as this one. It was a tough call but there’s certainly an empty space in my stash since this left the building,,,
