IT’S BIRTHDAY GIFT TIME!

Forerunner 10

I’m so excited to tell you all what I got for my birthday from my super awesome runner sister. She got me a forerunner 10. The day these things came out I thought it would be perfect for me because its a Garmin but it isn’t super technical and is reasonably priced.

In high school I was a runner. And by runner I mean I was on the cross country team, but I wasn’t any good. I ran. But I was slow. At that point I basically did it just to keep in shape. The coaches really wanted nothing to do with me because I wasn’t the top 5 people scoring points for the team. And I didn’t really care. Anyway, over the years the running kinda fell by the wayside. Running was my sisters thing. Plus weight gain makes running that much harder. I ran enough to compete in the pittsburgh Marathon relay but that was only a few miles that I could train for a few weeks before.

Anyway, I’ve been trying to run outside more. My sister got wind of this and loved it. So she bough me a Garmin Forerunner 10. It’s lime green (matches my ipod shuffle!) and it’s pretty slender compared to their other Garmin watches. Its actually pretty comparable to my other sport watches in size. It has the ability to use GPS to track my distance, pace, total time… I can even set a pace and run against it. I’m excited to start using it. I’m sad its not warmer outside. As I beginner runner I feel like my lungs would die if I went and tried to run outside right now– especially because I’m not used to it. One of the other things I really enjoy is that you can link it up on line and track your progress which should be something I can look forward to over the next few months with my weight loss!

I feel like at this point since I haven’t even used it yet, that I cant review it but be sure to look for a review in the future. Once I log some miles on it and can better gauge how it works for me.

Stay tuned for part 2 of the birthday gifts… I’ve got one more coming but it was just ordered yesterday! Strange turn of events!
