Struggles


I’m sad this week. Not only did I have a bad week at work being on call (I know I said I hated when my coworker complained about being on call), but I gained weight this week. I struggled a lot with this week. I was off my normal schedule, I wasn’t eating the meals I chose– going out to dinner a few times this week plus being at a go-live for work didn’t help. I love Atkins and the results it can produce for me, but for some reason at this time, it isn’t working for me. The choices seem a lot harder to make– I feel like its a LOT harder to stick to. I’m struggling to make the right choices. Sticking strictly to lean meats as my protein and fat sources are starting to make me nauseated to eat. It just became very VERY challenging to stay focused. Another issue I had was eating with my family and friends. Its really hard to have a family dinner and make myself a special meal while they all eat something yummy. Not that my meals weren’t yummy– Maybe it was more of a grass was greener thing.

I’ve been thinking lately about switching over to Weight watchers. Well today I did it. It was one of those defining upsetting moments where I clicked “submit” to weight watchers online, but really wanted to cry. How did I get this way?

This week has been so hard. I was out of my normal routine.. Off for a day and a half randomly through the middle of the week. On call (Major stresser this week). Friends from out of town came in. Saturday night after being up for about 16 hours, I only got 3 hours of sleep because of call… it was just bad. All excuses I know, but this week was beyond challenging for me. I wasn’t in the normal routine of reading blogs, writing blogs– comments etc. I think I sometimes feel really disconnected from my blog when I schedule blogs too which is exactly what I’ve been doing all last week because I knew it would get a little harry in there…

Anyway, I hope you are still reading out there and I’m marking this day as Day 1 of my Weight Watchers Journey.
