Ski Aspen for Spring Break

We had a chance to check out Aspen, Colorado during this spring break. We absolutely love Aspen city and skiing here. The city is more expensive than Vail, Beaver Creek…And Park City, Utah. There are four mountains to ski. Our favorites are Aspen Highlands and Snowmass mountain. Here are some infos to check out:

Aspen Highlands features extreme Colorado steeps. Wide-open runs, breathtaking views, plenty of beginner and intermediate runs. It has been the locals’ favorite for over 50 years. The summit elevation is 12,392 ft/3,768 m, and base elevation is 8,040 ft/2445 m. Longest run is 3.5 miles / 5.6 km.

Snowmass mountain is best known for wide-open, groomed cruising and family-friendly activities. Snowmass has long been rated one of the best family ski areas in North America. It’s located about 9 miles/14km from downtown Aspen. The summit elevation is 12,510 ft (3,813 m), and base elevation is 8,104 ft (2,473 m). Skiable area is 3,128 acres (12.66 km²), and longest run 5.3 Miles (8.5 km).

Aspen/Ajex mountain is located above the city of Aspen. The summit elevation is 11,212 ft./3,418 m, and base elevation is 7,945 ft./2,422 m. Skiable area is 673 acres (2.7 km2), and longest run is 3 miles/4.83 km.

Buttermilk is wide-open and gently rolling trails that cater to beginners and families. Summit elevation is 9,900 ft./3,018 m, and base elevation is 7,870 ft./2,399 m. Longest run: 3 miles/4.83 km.
