Lately… About Being A Wife…

Being a blogger means that I write and read a lot of articles, both online or offline. I enjoy reading. It also makes me think a lot. I cannot say it’s a good thing or bad thing. I just automatically switch to “thinking mode” when I read something that’s worth thinking about (or at least from my perspective).

Recently, something has been bothering me…

I have been reading quite a bit about marriage and love relationship that talks about how to be a good wife and maintain a stable loving marriage. Very often, those articles are talking about how wives can make a marriage work and how to better serve and love our spouse and spice up the relationships…

Which, are all good advises.

But, it makes me wonder, does the good marriage only depends on women? Do I need to learn how to cook, look beautiful and hot, keep track of his emotions and carefully hide away my true feelings, hurts and joys for safe-keeping, just to keep the marriage healthy?

It occurs to me that, very often women need to bear the burden of responsibilities to make a “good” marriage. Seriously, how often would you come across articles written by men that says “How to Be A Good Husband” or “8 Ways To Improve Your Marriage“?

Or maybe it’s our nature to be blamed. Women are generally more accommodating and all we want is to make our husbands happy.

Well, I don’t know…

Maybe it’s the hormone fluctuation from the pregnancy or I have been thinking too much. Man and woman, we are crafted equally to support a good healthy marriage. I do believe everyone’s formula to build a steady marriage would be different, and women shouldn’t be the party that is solely responsible for making the marriage works.

Mark 10:6-9

6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

And LOVE, should be the principal.
