Wedding Salon Showcase

A cool perk of being a blogger is getting invited to fun events. What’s even cooler is when you’re newly engaged and you get invited to cover a bridal event as a member of the press. I was so lucky to be invited to attend the Wedding Salon Showcase last month at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.

This Wedding Salon Showcase is the nation’s #1 luxury bridal show where experts, vendors and brides alike come together to see the latest trends in the world of weddings. Partners included WeddingWire, The Knot, BRIDES Magazine and more. Fun fact: the press pass I got to wear had a WeddingWire logo on it, so people thought I worked for them. Hilarious. I had to say, “Oh no, I’m just a nobody blogger, I WISH I worked for WeddingWire!”

As soon as you walked in the event, you were greeted by gorgeous couture wedding gowns from local and international designers. Some of my favorites were those by Jenny Yoo New York- especially their bridesmaid dress selection. I skipped over a lot of the honeymoon information booths since I wasn’t too interested in that- yet. I enjoyed tasting chocolates and cakes- especially the cake from Cake Boss‘ Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ where I work- and sipping on cocktails and champagne.

The event also displayed some gorgeous inspiration for reception table designs, was giving makeovers for bridal beauty ideas and set up a few booths dedicated to stationary and wedding invites. My two favorites were Christa Alexandra Designs (she operates out of VT, which I love!) and Postable, which does all the hard work of sending wedding invites for you.

The event was a bit crowded, with crazy brides-to-be running all over the place and not being aware of everyone around them, but it was fun. It definitely gave me some inspiration for my own upcoming wedding (fall of 2016!)
