4 Ways to Accentuate Placemats for Summer

As an accompaniment to this weeks sale, we designed place setting inspiration using our featured deal- Placemats. What is there not to love about placemats? The combination of function & style make them ideal for any home. Not only do they bring vitality to a dining table without hiding its natural beauty, but also protection from watermarks and scratches.

Our goal was to create 4 different looks to appeal to diverse summer styles or moods. Romantic, vibrant, rustic, and nautical.

For this tablescape we set out to create something fun and vibrant for summer. To really make this table pop we paired trellis print turquoise placemats with coordinating mustard yellow trellis print napkins. This unique print adds charm to the brilliant colors. To finish off the look we added a bold hydrangea filled paper lantern centerpiece and small dessert platters. TIP: To recreate the look of this centerpiece, place an acrylic napkin ring in the bottom of the lantern to keep it from tipping over.

This upbeat rustic look was inspired by our chevron burlap placemat. Yellow sunflowers and white carnations in mason jars tucked in a galvanized metal planter embellished with a jute bow, bring cheerfulness to the table. To finish off the look and add another pop of color, we added our sweet as can bee salt and pepper shakers. Doesn’t this look just make you smile?

Our goal for this tablescape was to create a soft romantic, elegant look. The inspiration behind this look were the maple weave placemats that are a beautiful shade of brown and have just enough shimmer to bring a touch of elegance to the table. To add a pop of color to this look we paired fuchsia vintage royalty napkins with gold acrylic napkin rings, and placed varying shades of pink hydrangea in a brown metal bucket. This simple combination makes for a great every day look at home.

Our obsession with nautical themes continues with our anchor placemats paired with our navy and white striped napkins, which you might recognize from our nautical themed post awhile back. For the centerpiece we included our stainless steel candle lantern and white metal candle lanterns. Seashells scattered along the table and rope tied around the candles played up the nautical theme to create the finishing touches.
