Summer Clothes Haul

I really wish I had a professional (or even just semi-pro…or even just amateur!) photographer on standby to snap my outfits but unfortunately it’s just me, my iPhone 5 and my full length mirror. I find myself lusting over the arty pictures that some fashion bloggers take and they really do put my efforts to shame! However, until I can befriend or bribe someone to take my photos or even just clone myself to take my own pictures, I’ll just have to make do in this respect. Hopefully you guys can still see how the clothes fit and look.

Warehouse Top (£28) | ASOS skirt (£20) | Carvela Court Shoes (£49 on sale atm)

You can’t really beat a good pencil skirt for timeless glamour and these ones from ASOS are cheap and cheerful but also have a bit of stretch in them so they cling in all the right places. If the bottom half of your silhouette is fitted, it’s nice to balance things out by choosing a flowing top. This textured, panelled one from Warehouse is absolutely gorgeous and is probably one of my favourite things from this particular haul. Being bigger in the chest, I wouldn’t usually go for anything with a high neck, but the way this top is cut just gives everything proportion and looks really flattering. You have to see this top in person to really appreciate how beautiful it is and it looks just as good with jeans as it does with skirts.

Warehouse Top (£16) | Warehouse Jeans (£45) | New Look Court Shoes (£17.99)

This emerald green top is not a colour I would normally be drawn to but I was aware I kept choosing the same colours all the time so I thought I’d mix it up a bit. I was pleasantly surprised at how much this shade suited me. It’s another nicely tailored top in a lightweight fabric that just flows nicely over the torso. It looks really fresh and summery when you team it with white and nude and it’s a nice balance between being smart and casual.

New Look Rose Gold Circle Necklace (£3.99) | New Look Court Shoes (£17.99) | Warehouse Bangles (£10)

I’m really into delicate, dainty jewellery at the moment so this circle necklace from New Look caught my eye. The New Look court shoes I picked up in nude and cornflower blue are also another favourite purchase because they are so damn comfortable! I got the wide fit as pointed court shoes tend to pinch on my feet when I wear them all day. These also have a mid height heel (about 2 and a half inches) that’s absolutely perfect for daytime wear. I really don’t believe that people totter around in 5-6 inch heels all day. I’m pretty convinced some fashion bloggers take them off right after taking blog pics! ha ha. These courts are under £20 and come in lots of summery colours – I liked them so much, I picked up two pairs! I couldn’t find them on the New Look website but they were in the new section at my local store. I also bought some bangles from Warehouse that come in a 3 pack of silver, gold and rose gold. The perfect understated jewellery to pair with delicate necklaces.

Warehouse T-Shirt | Warehouse Jeans (£45) | River Island Boots (last season)

I love casual t-shirts that have an extra edge to them and this Warehouse lace print one is the perfect addition to my new Warehouse white skinny jeans. It’s just the right amount of oversized without drowning my figure. Go too big and you risk looking bulkier than you actually are. I couldn’t find a link online to the top but it’s new stock so check in your local store. The jeans are really comfortable and are cut in a way that’s really flattering. I don’t wear anything other than skinny jeans now because I really stick to what suits me. I like my legs so I feel like I can afford to show them off in fitted trousers or jeans.

Oasis Dress (£35) | Whistles Boots (last season) | Michael Kors Sunglasses (£109)

I was immediately drawn to this floral dress in Oasis mainly due to the almost neon coral base colour to the fabric. Coral is one of my favourite colours for summer and dress is perfect for being dressed up or down. I love how it looks with my Warehouse taupe suede biker jacket and casual boots but it would look equally gorgeous teamed with some killer heels. The fit is perfect for my figure because it nips in just below the bust and flares out. I have a short waist and an apple shape so this is a really flattering cut for me. I can tell I will be wearing this constantly over the summer months…weather permitting!

Warehouse Suede Biker Jacket (£120) | Carvela Court Shoes | New Look Court Shoes

This suede biker jacket from Warehouse is probably my top buy of 2015 because I had been looking for one like this for years! It’s perfect in every way from the colour to the fit and although it’s expensive, I know I will be wearing it for years to come. If you look after it, leather and suede just get better with age.
