Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

In collaboration with Maybelline

Now my skin seems to (finally) be back under control, and with spring around the corner, I’ve been on the look out for a lightweight everyday foundation – something that doesn’t ‘feel’ like anything but can still pack a punch when it comes to covering the odd blemish or scar.

I’ve found this happy medium before in those prototype ‘dry oil’ style foundations that burst onto the beauty scene a couple of years ago. The good news is they’ve now trickled down to the high street, bringing with them revised formulas and much purse-friendlier price tags.

One such foundation, which has now taken up residence in my makeup bag, is Maybelline’s new Dream Flawless Nude foundation (£8.99). I wear Beige Dore (there are 7 shades available in total), which sheers out to a ‘barely there, natural skin’ finish but, despite the weightless feel, the concentrated pigments make following up with concealer almost redundant.

Maybelline say this foundation is their finest ever texture (12x finer to be precise) and the dropper helpfully stops things from getting too messy – a few drops is enough for a beautiful, even finish. I find blending with fingers works just fine, but it teams up nicely with a buffing brush too. The finish is satin-y on my slightly combination skin and I don’t find I need to follow with setting powder.
