It’s been a while.

I moved to Sydney, which is everything everyone said it would be – busy, beautiful and expensive. I started a new job which is both overwhelming and exciting. Grown up job = grown up gal? Maybe not.

I’ve acquired a pretty epic Din Tai Fung addiction, their vegetarian dumplings complete me.

I’ve been living out of suitcase whilst we apartment hunt (mainly looking inner west, but have my eyes and heart set on a place in Redfern), so my cooking has been tacos, bi bim baps and avocado on toast, see here. I’m a-okay with those choices, I did run into issues with blunt serviced apartment knives, which cased many a massacred mushroom, onion and bread loaf. Fyi my number one picks for must have utensils are a good knife (or two – breadknife!) and a mandolin.

I’m already thinking about Christmas because I have no damn shame, I love that holiday. When is too early to start listening to christmas music? I’m thinking November is still too early – for the sake of all my friendships I guess.

But how excellent is the watermelon jack-o-lantern trend, I imagine ants would be an issue, but considering pumpkins are not in season at the moment in Aus, watermelons are definitely a more local choice. Next year for sure.

If you have good Sydney tips hook a brother up.

Next week – I promise I’m making Cheesecake – yeah food!
