Personal | Getting fit for Christmas!

Well hello there guys :) Today it’s Saturday and I thought it was time to make my blog a bit more personal and versatile, since I also like seeing this on other pages, plus I get quite a lot of questions about my workout regime and diet. My Instagram feed is already more filled with personal posts like my daily views, cat/home snapshots and my body’s progress during some new fit challenge, but never on my blog. So why not implement this personal touch and let you get to know me a bit better!

Let’s start with my new trip to get fit for Christmas =) Some of you may have followed my fit journey on Instagram back in February through May, when I was doing Kayla Itsines’s Bikini Body Guide. I absolutely loved what it has done to my mind state back then, as it makes you push yourself and automatically make yourself feel proud when you have done another workout. Because trust me; Kayla’s workouts are NO JOKE! After the 28 minutes of resistance training you will find yourself completely in dripping sweat and shaking on your two’s =P Not to mention the soreness you feel and actually makes you feel happy! I can really recommend you to have a workout buddy, because without it you may easily leave a workout out because you are either too tired or have a ton of other excuses to not give in and kick some butt. 1 day out resulted in 7 days out etc.

So yeah; I was fit, strong and lean, but I found myself too lean! My butt was gone and that was something I was really happy with at first, just like my hips. After completing the 12 week program I have been continuing to workout, but the last 3 months were sort of ‘bla’ and busy, which resulted in gaining fat percentage and loose muscle mass. I’ve been even trying to do the Raw Til 4 trip, but that didn’t work out so well because it is hard to maintain in my current lifestyle. So what to do then, as I felt lousy, lazy, no energy and just not so happy with myself anymore. I wasn’t overweight but the less I worked out, the lousier I felt. So let’s do this: At least become fit for Christmas, because I love to eat and not want to restrict myself from anything that we want to eat and drink then! Also; I am done with the entire ‘January 1st resolutions’. If you want something, why wait?? Plus, I want to make it a habit, not something you do for just 3 or 6 months.

I started the Bikini Body Guide again, but this time not so dedicated as before! Working out 5 to 7 times a week felt amazing back then, but back then I had so much more time and it actually made me loose too much of my hips and butt. At the moment I’m doing 3/4 of the workout and then 4 or 5 x 15 glute kickbacks per butt cheek to build and firm that booty! No way I’m losing my butt again!!! =P I also walk a lot during the day for cardio (no powerwalk, just brisk walks), about 2 to 3,5 hours in total 3 times a week, plus since 1 week doing some serious yoga and stretching, and the picture on the top right is what I look like now, 3 weeks later :) Please note; I don’t diet, I pursue a lifestyle that fits my needs as I listen to my body and try to nourish it healthily and do enjoy some candy and a glass of wine here and there, just because I am a total cozy-bum that enjoys some snacks in good company. Just all in moderation, simply because you CAN!

What I would like to give back to you today is that you must remember that you can absolutely become fit, strong and healthy, but without willpower there is no way possible! Create a workout schedule that meets your timetable, so that you can’t use this as an excuse anymore =P Also, you don’t have to give up on sweets, just have it in moderation combined with eating healthy and nutritious. In the beginning it might be hard to stick to it when you are used to lots of bad food and little to no workouts, but after a week it will become more of a habit and you even notice you can more often say ‘no’ to chocolate or sweet stuff. I never drink soda anymore, just water, tea and smoothies, and of course my morning coffee! This all helps a lot so you won’t get those tons of sugar inside of you.

Also; don’t be too hard on yourself! When you had a bad day or a couple of bad days and didn’t workout because of that; DON’T WORRY! Make the next days count and feel more motivated than ever. Endorphins will guide you to a happier place when you workout, and when you think you can’t continue anymore; keep on going for at least another set or another mile, and you feel so proud in the shower afterwards!

Life is so much more beautiful when you can be proud of yourself,
so when you have goals; go get ‘m babe!

I hope you liked this post and gave you energy to keep on going or even get started ^_^

<3 from me =)
