Pony Riding in The Cotswolds

Last weekend, my eldest two children and I went for a much needed break to The Cotswolds while Jake stayed at home with his grandparents. We visited our good friends and their children who moved from Tunbridge Wells several years ago to enjoy ‘the good life’ in rural Gloucestershire. My friend’s daughters are very accomplished riders having being practically born in the saddle (!) and so Joshua and Grace were delighted when we finished the weekend with a fabulous pony ride across the fields near their home.

It was the perfect opportunity to get my camera out and capture the beauty of the landscape around us and the children enjoying their ride despite it being a rather bleak day.

Saddling up the ponies became a challenge in itself as every time we went near them they galloped off as shown below. Luckily I had a box of Tic Tac mints in my pocket which had them bribed and saddled no sooner had I shaken the box at them!

Once in the field the girls took the opportunity to have a playful canter so that I could capture them in action.

It was a wonderful weekend and the perfect country escape for us so thanks guys for making it so special!
