Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil: Silky, Smooth Hair

The best products are launched out of a specific need or idea, rather than just from a marketing plan to fill a gap within a product repertoire. Bumble & Bumble's new Hairdresser's Invisible Oil collection is the result of just that, after they discovered hairdressers were using their professional 'Invisible Oil' product within shampoos and conditioners, injecting some much needed moisture and smoothness into clients' hair. This delicious new trio includes a shampoo, conditioner and primer to help protect the hair from further damage (whilst simultaneously helping styling products to perform at their best,) and has been specifically formulated to provide a multitude of functions - including smoothing, softening, de-frizzing, detangling and protecting hair.

The sulfate free shampoo is incredibly light, providing a delicate lather that helps to cleanse hair without stripping it; after two thorough cleanses hair doesn't feel overly coarse or stripped of goodness. In addition, the conditioner is thick and creamy to provide the feeling of a treatment on hair - coating my mids and ends in this leaves them restored and silky smooth after only a few minutes. Thanks to the inclusion of six featherlight oils to de-frizz and smooth without weighing hair down or causing grease after only a day, the result is hair that looks and feels fab. As soon as I started using this I noticed how little my hair was becoming tangled post shower, removing the thirty minute battle with knots before I could even start drying.

The primer offers hair with a pre-styling aid, helping to not only detangle and provide heat protection, but to offer a degree of UV protection for those of us concerned with discolouration and dryness. If you've not used a hair primer before, then essentially they work in the same way as a face primer; you simply 'prep' the hair with a few squirts and it helps to create a barrier between the surface of hair and product to ensure maximum effectiveness. If you want to ensure your styling spray lasts all day, that your serum smoothes perfectly or simply your curls stay put, a primer could be the answer. I love the spray element to this and the fact it's really lightweight: other primers I've tried have always been in pump or cream format, so this is definitely a doddle in comparison.

I'm not quite sure why the shampoo (£23.00) and conditioner (£25.00) are more expensive than the primer (£19.00), or why the conditioner is only 200ml (meaning I went through it twice the speed as I did the shampoo,) but they're fabulous products that I'm really quite gutted I've already finished. Most shampoo and conditioning products provide the same result for me, but the Invisible Oil duo definitely offered something different that I noticed from the very first wash. If you suffer from dry, frizzy, coarse or unruly hair, then these are definitely worth a look!
