A Little Niamh & George Update

It's been a while since I shared an update on the little gremlins!

For those who have yet to be introduced, Niamh is my little British Blue and George is my chunky Chocolate Tabby Colourpoint. They are both British Shorthairs. We got them to help us heal after our gorgeous rescue kitty, Baby, sadly passed away back in 2012. I'm sure you'll come across lots of pictures if you want to flick back through the archives! We've had Niamh and George for around three years now, I couldn't imagine our family feeling complete without them! They each have a unique personality and their own little quirks that makes them them.

Niamh is a complete and utter love bug, she needs love and attention constantly. She has a special croaky meow that she reserves just for me and she is constantly attempting to lay on my growing belly, I call her my little witch pig. She's also created a game that she loves to play with Jack. He'll blow on her and she'll start rolling on the floor, I think she's pretending that he blew her over, she'll keep rolling until he rubs her tummy. Then she's back up and waiting to go again. She still plays fetch with hairbands and straws and her favourite treats are Dreamies. She's my little shadow when I'm in the house. I can't be in a room on my own for longer than five minutes, she'll always hunt me down and demand cuddles.

George is more independent but still enjoys a love (on his own terms!). I've kind of come to terms with the fact that he just hates to be held but if he's in a nice mood he'll nuzzle your face and curl up beside you. He's a typical BSH. He eats anything, so we have to be careful with what we leave out! He is a greedy guts! And a tubby one at that! You can tell he's the baby out of the two of them, even if he is a big boy now! He loves a brush, but you have to stop periodically to let him bite the comb before continuing. He needs grooming daily because he sheds fur all over! You'll usually find him living it up in a sun patch, or attempting to get water out of the tap like a hamster. It's a habit we're trying to break him out of! He'll only drink from his bowl if we block access off to the kitchen. I'd just woken him from one of his 100 daily cat naps, which is why he looks so grumpy in the photographs! He went straight back to sleep immediately after these.

I could talk all day about the two of them, they are a huge part of our family! Jack and I are really proud of how they have turned out whilst under our care. They have their mad, naughty moments but the love we get in return is so worth tidying up the destruction they cause on a daily basis! (They're not that bad, it just gets tedious rearranging throws and sofa cushions!)

Now I am going to go and snuggle one (or maybe both, if I can catch them).
