Today a shadow will fall over Northern Europe when the our planet aligns with the moon and the sun for a couple of hours. Last week Glamcult curated a genius exhibition in the run up to today’s eclipse. Supported by Sebastien Professional they gave room to nine promising artists and designers, who know all about gloominess or its anti pole brightness.

The location of the exhibition was quite unlikely too, an old prison that until last year was still in use in the center of Rotterdam. Dilapidated surfaces, thick walls, high fences, massive iron gates – a strange atmosphere of restriction. They transformed two of the hallways into a black wing and a white wing and created an experience with a contrast of enlightenment and darkness. Although the visual contrast was strong, almost all artists had works on both sides, you could see it from opposite perspectives yet at the same time it was very cohesive and there was no conflict between the two wings.

Glamcult always manages to bring together the best selection of talents, this time again a well curated mix of fashion, photography, product design, visual arts and sound. Oh and I hear that the after party in the black wing was pretty epic too. Kudos.
