#4weeksfit {The Results}

At the start of March, Kristin and I set out to motivate ourselves and anyone else who was interested by doing the #4weeksfit challenge for the second year in a row. It was a great way to push myself, and I loved having other gals working toward their goals right along with me. Sorry for the annoying amount of times I used the #4weeksfit hashtag, but I loved seeing you all working on your fitness with me! Let's see how I did.
Goal #1 - Incorporate more/new healthy foods in my diet. I'm proud to say I nailed this one. I made all kinds of new variations on vegetables, tried brussels sprouts for the first time and roasted cabbage more than once as a side dish. It felt good to mix it up and I know I'll keep at this one.
Goal #2 - Lose 5-7 pounds. This morning was the moment of truth for me. And guess what?! I did it! 5 pounds lost in March. Now to keep those off and keep on shedding more weight!
Goal #3 - Get 8,000 steps a day. I know 10k is really the "recommended" goal but since I was averaging 4k in previous months, I figured I had to start somewhere. This month I averaged 9,924 steps per day. I had my half-marathon and touring of D.C. in there which helped my average, but also a couple days of driving in a car all day and a few days of not wanting to move a lot as I recovered ;) So I guess it all evens out. I definitely stepped up my game this month but hope to keep on improving.

Goal #4 - Run my entire half-marathon. I'm torn on this one. I came really close to running the whole thing. I did stop to use a bathroom once and I walked through a few water stations; then I had to stop and walk on a hill around mile 11, I think. I asked Jared how many minutes he thinks we walked, and he said only 5-10, so that felt pretty good. I'm still proud of what I was able to do!

So all in all, I did okay! All progress counts, even if it wasn't as much as you'd hoped or planned for. If nothing else, this month opened my eyes to a lot of things and motivated me to keep going strong and keep working on my fitness. You're never truly done working on yourself! I'm committed to being the best version of myself that I can be.
