Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
Where events like my birthday and Christmas used to be events that I blogged about extra, you may have noticed a slight change: a little more silence around those. The reason for that is that after almost 4 years of blogging, I’m enlarging the gap between my work and personal life a little.
Of course it’s well known (or that’s what I think) that there’s almost always a gap between who we are and what we show online. My blog has always been quite personal but it’s obviously about fashion and there’s a part of my life that I share and a part of it that I don’t share. It’s always honest and genuine, because I value being those aspects and have no idea why I’d even have a blog if it’s not even real (but that’s my opinion), but of course there’s more to me than what I wear and where I shop. After 4 years of blogging and almost 2 years of full time blogging I felt like taking a little more offline time every now and then. Being a blogger I’m behind my phone and laptop screen a lot, and I’m sure there’s not much need to explain that offline time, quality time and not being at work 20/7 is important. For the last few months I felt a little more need than usual to take my time every now and then, that’s why you sometimes hear less from me on the weekends, and now during the time around my birthday.

I love my blog and it’s a huge thing for me, but I also like to put things in perspective and despite this being my full time job and my life for a big part, there’s no catastrophe if I don’t blog for 2 days. Of course, I miss you guys too, but me-time in general I think is underrated.
This is not a negative story at all – I’m not taking time off because I’m not feeling well, but it’s actually quite positive. I’m at a point where I’m giving everything that happens in my life much thought and think about who I am and where I want to be. The extra time gives me piece of mind and room for inspiration.
And in the end my blog profits from that. I’m not revealing too much yet because I don’t have all of it clear in my head yet and it’s still in progress, but there will be some changes coming to Lovely by Lucy too.

Of course you guys are a big part of my blog as well which I why I not only asked myself, but also want to ask you: what would you like to see more/less of? Do you like just scrolling through pictures of what I wear or do you want to hear my personal opinion about everything? More trends, inspiration and general topics or more Lucy? More text? Less text? No need to puzzle over it for hours, that’s my job, but if something springs to mind or if you’d like to share anything, I’d be very happy to hear it. Consider it a birthday present ;)
