A Dream Comes True: My Own Coffee Machine!

If you have following my blog or twitter for awhile, you'll know that I have a strong addiction to coffee, and always wishing for having my own coffee machine. Sadly the "professional" coffee maker is too complicated to operate and cost some precious amount of money too for a personal use. I almost give up the idea of being a home-based-coffeemaker until I heard about the new "Dolce Gusto" machine from Nescafe. They said it offers an easy way for someone like me to make my own cafe-quality coffee from home. I googled a bit and after finding if friendly to purchase, I decided to get one unit for myself. Now I'm going to share my first experience with my little Dolce Gusto with you (beginner alert)!

So this is my GENIO Dolce Gusto, in classic black color. Next to it are the Nescafe capsules, materials you'd need to make the coffee and tea.

Good guy Nescafe, providing a bunch of manual for beginners like me - very helpful.

This is how you start to make the coffee - pull the lock and put your prefered capsule inside.

Then put the lock back in place to secure your capsule.

Press the button to start! There are different level to choose for making different kind of coffee. I'm using the one for Cappucinno, as listed and explained in the manual book.

WOOPS! It's done already.

Since my sister was there too, she wanted a peach tea for herself. So I made her one.

Here they are! I like my Cappucinno light and sweet, so I didn't use extra coffee shots. Meanwhile, the peach tea was thick and foamy - surprisingly good!

Making another glass of tea for myself. Being greedy. It's okay for a first-timer. And by the way look how tiny the machine is! Isn't it great!

Mandatory photos to show you the face of satisfaction and glory. MY OWN COFFEE MACHINE!

I know you can't tell how the coffee taste, but it has the perfect blend of goodness and efficiency in one cup. Way better than my other instant coffee cups and definitely competitive to compare with the usual cafe-made I ordered. There are lots of techniques to improvise the result, but I haven't tried any - knowing that the basic ones are great already is making me lazy to try the advanced kind, but my sister loves exploring new recipes and if next time we made something different I'd make another post to share it.
By the way, more information about the product series can be found here. I like Piccolo and Genio types because I wanted the machine to occupy just a little space in my room, but the other types are available too so you better check them out.
