Warby Parker // At Home Try - On Glasses

I'm a glasses girl. Ever since I was 14 years old, I've been wearing prescription glasses on the daily. I was lucky enough to be half way through my freshman year of high school, already battling acne and hormonal greasy hair, to find that I couldn't read anything on the white board in the front of my class. It was a bummer. I already felt like my nerd quota had been met with my lanky 5'9" frame, zits, greasy hair, and my excruciatingly shy demeanor. But alas, the nerd gods decided I needed just one more addition to top off my dorky self presentation.
I was totally scared of contacts and grossed out at the idea of sticking my finger in my eye every morning and night. So I didn't get my first pair of contacts until near the end of my senior year of high school when for some reason I decided to play on our powder puff football team. It took me 3 hours to get a contact in each eye and to take them out again so you can bet I just wore them the day of the game and didn't try that again for another year or two. And the next time I tried to put in contacts, I poked my eye so badly with my finger that I burst a vein in my eye. (I recommend not googling that because it sends shivers down my spine...) Since then, I've probably only worn contacts about 30 times in 10 years.

The good news is that after a year or two of wearing glasses in my teen years, I began to really enjoy having a little comfort blanket on my face. I felt safe and shielded behind my glasses and I liked that it wasn't cool to wear glasses. At some point in the last few years though, glasses in general have gotten WAY cooler. Enter Warby Parker. I tried some on some of their glasses a few years ago via the At Home Try-On option but back then, they didn't have as many options for varying face shapes. I have a huge head so it's hard for me to find a pair of frames that fit my giant head but dont look too hyper masculine on me. So for the last few years I've been wearing Ray Ban sunglasses with a clear prescription glasses lens in them, and now I'm looking to find some glasses with a little more quirk to them. So I decided to give Warby Parker's glasses line another go.
This time, I think I've found not one but two pairs I actually really like! The Sloan & the Ainsworth both made me look kind of sad and frumpy because the upper corners of the glasses turn down a bit. And the Clyde felt a bit small for my face plus the darkness of the color felt a bit severe for my fair skin & hair color. But to my surprise, I actually really liked the Duckworth in light blue which is a color I rarely wear. I think the softness of the color works well with my fair skin, light eyes, and lighter hair. Overall though, I think I like the Holcombs best. I like the look of retro feeling glasses with a heavy plastic on the top and thin metal wire along the bottom, but this style usually looks horrible on me. I think the femininity of the little cat eye feel on these glasses are what make them work well for my rectangular face shape and soft tones of my skin and eyes. They make my overall look feel a little more alert and happy.

What do you think? Which should I choose!
