Algo tiene que tener este restaurante libanés que comenzó su andadura en el barrio de Sanchinarro, para que lo escogieran como responsable del restaurante de La Casa Árabe. Este centro cultural está en un precioso edificio que merece la pena conocer justo en frente del Retiro, y uno de sus atractivos es, desde hace no mucho Shukran, su restaurante y su terraza. Pero hoy os hablamos de su “hermano pequeño”, un nuevo local justo enfrente de la plaza de toros de Las Ventas: Shukran Express. Aquí preparan comida para llevar a precios muy muy ajustados (unos 10€ por persona), aunque te puedes quedar a tomarlo en el local, que es pequeñito pero invita a quedarse en alguna de sus mesas junto a los enormes ventanales, o en la terraza de la propia calle Alcalá con vistas a la Plaza de Toros, que de noche e iluminada es casi mágica.
Lo mejor de Shukran es la comida, la misma (con una carta algo más reducida) que se puede degustar en sus otros dos locales de Sanchinarro y Casa Árabe. Aparte de las más conocidas tapas libanesas como el hummus (de los mejores que hemos probado) o falafel, nos han sorprendido sus ensaladas, los wrap o las pizzas libanesas, como la del tomillo con aceite o la de queso libanés que tienen un punto especial que las diferencia de las clásicas pizzas italianas. También ofrecen desayunos con dulces libaneses (que también puedes tomar como postre) y diferentes menús que salen aún más baratos. Para los que no estéis familiarizados con este tipo de comida, es la oportunidad perfecta para probarla de una manera informal y por un precio inmejorable. Además, como han abierto hace muy poquito hasta el 31 de Julio os regalan un miniwrap con vuestro pedido, así que daos prisa y ¡os aseguramos que querréis volver!

Something must have this Lebanese restaurant that began in Sanchinarro (in the suburbs of Madrid) if they were selected for taking care of gastronomy of the Arab House. This cultural center is located inside an impressive building that is worth visiting, not only for the many cultural proposals but also for being situated in a beautiful location, right in front of the Retiro park. And one of its attractions is its restaurant, Shukran, for their delicious Lebanese cuisine and stunning terrace. But today we’re talking about their brand new local: Shukran Express. Right in front of Las Ventas this small take away offers mostly low-cost menus (for around 10 euro), but you can also stay and have a bite and a drink in here; the restaurant itself is tiny but invites you to stay in one of their tables next to the huge windows, or on the terrace overlooking the bullring, which illuminated at night is almost magical.
Besides all this, the best of Shukran is the food, which is the same (with a slightly smaller menu) than in their locals in Sanchinarro and the Arabic House. Apart from the best-known Lebanese tapas such as hummus (the best we’ve tested), or falafel, we’ve loved their salads, their Lebanese wraps or pizzas, such as the one with thyme oil or Lebanese cheese which gives them a special flavour very different from the classic Italian pizzas. They also offer breakfast with Lebanese sweets (that you can also take as dessert) and menus that come even cheaper. For those of you that are still unfamiliar with this type of food, it’s the perfect opportunity to try it in an informal way at unbeatable price. Moreover, since they have just opened they offer a free miniwrap you with your order until July 31, so hurry up and we’re sure you will want to go back!
