Bloom & Grow

Hello there friends! It’s Friday again! The weeks fly by don’t they!! I love Jessy’s opening paragraph today (see below) because she talks about how spending time doing creative things is therapeutic for her…. it’s so true! I find that for me (with 6 kids and a busy schedule) there isn’t always a convenient time for me to escape into my studio to scrapbook, paint, sew or be creative. BUT, I do find that it is so fulfilling and renewing to me!

I’ve found that a great way for me to make it work with my schedule is to bring the kiddos in and let them create along with me. Most often it is when the bigger kids are in school, so I just have Henry and Lizzy here at home. When Henry is napping, Lizzy and I can come in and get quite a bit of creative time in. She ABSOLUTELY LOVES being creative as well so it’s a fun activity for us to do together and I love that! I’m excited for Jessy to have this same experience with her sweet little girl in a few years time when she is a little older!

Crafting time is what I always look forward to after I drop my daughter at school. Those are the perfect hours where I can spend my time alone just to express my creativity, and it is very therapeutic. We definitely deserve some time alone doing what we love!

I absolutely adore the Bloom collection so much that I decided to use the “Bloom & Grow” saying as my inspiration. Just couldn’t help humming the song Edelweiss as I scrap too. If you are a fan of the Sound of Music, you’ll know why. Lol. My daughter is growing so fast for the past 3 years. She has grown so beautifully and full of amazing personalities. For that reason, I wanted to take a moment to remember her at this age. This is what scrapbooking is all about, to remember all these precious memories.

When I thought of “Bloom & Grow,” I just knew that I had to use flowers & butterflies on my layout. These elements are perfect for a feminine and girly layout. I started with fussy-cutting the gold vellum flowers and attached them onto the die-cut butterflies. They were perfect for each other. Once I had positioned the butterflies, I added another feminine touch by using some doilies. Absolutely love it! I also filled up the rest of my layout with word stickers & chipboard stickers. All the elements & embellishments looked so good on a peach-pink background paper! Just perfect!

Thanks for coming by! xoxoxo Jessy

Happy Friday!
