The Interview

If your life were a song, what would it be? “Tusk” by Fleetwood Mac

Pinterest or Facebook? Pinterest. I can be in my own little fantasy world with Pinterest.

What meal brings back the fondest memories? Green Chile Sour Cream Enchiladas. My mom and I would spend the entire day making them. Then being so exhausted from cooking the chicken, making the sauce and rolling them, we would heat them up in the microwave instead of baking them because we were so hungry!

What are you exceptionally good at? (Permission to brag) I love to quilt! Before I had my daughter I had made over 15 large quilts. I really want to start up again.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve collected? Salt and Pepper Shakers. When I had first married (13 years ago!), everywhere my husband and I went, we bought salt and pepper shakers. We collected over 100 sets! My decorating style has since changed and we sold most of them at a garage sale.

What are 3 things everyone should have in their pantry? Rice, pasta, and cornbread mix. These are my favorite easy sides to go with a slow cooker meal.

Best tip for keeping your kitchen organized? I am not the person to be asking that. My cupboards are bursting at the seams with spices and random dishes still from when I wrote the cookbook last summer. But I do make a point to clean my kitchen every night before bed, and I scrub and clean the sink until it shines. It makes the mornings seem more organized. Favorite words to live by? Always believe something wonderful is about to happen.
