NEW Chanel Rouge Coco [Info & Swatches]

This entry will feature the newly reformulated Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks - pictures heavy, be warned!

CHANEL ROUGE COCO ULTRA HYDRATING LIP COLOUR is a reinvented version of ROUGE COCO and is more expressive than ever with a new formula and vibrant color spectrum with shade names inspired by Coco Chanel's closest friends. The bright lip color features an exclusive complex with jojoba and mimosa butters, sunflower wax and silicone for lasting hydration and luminous results.

I have 16 shades here with me to share with you.
I find these lipsticks to be very comfortable to wear, not unlike the Shiseido Veiled Rouge which I just featured - but these are a tad creamier and have an almost balmy consistency. In terms of longevity, these lipsticks last for about 3 - 4 hours, and they are indeed hydrating. I love my matte lipsticks but I do like to reach for a hydrating version at times too.

Here are the first four shades: 440 Arthur - a warm red (but not orangey at all) this is the 'star' shade of the range, having been launched ahead of the others in time for Valentine's day and Chinese New year here
442 Dimitri - is a cooler toned red, with an almost rosy undertone.
444 Gabrielle is a true red that suits a range of skintones. I must say this looks stunning on my sister and I.
416 Coco is a sheer tangerine shade, with slightly red undertones

And the next four:

424 Edith is a pale warm pink, cute and wearable. A chic pink.
452 Emilienne looks very intense and bold in the tube, but a lot more wearable once applied on skin/ lips. It is a rich deep pink with a hint of sheen.
454 Jean is a deeper pink compared to Edith.
450 Ina is very close to Jean, but not as dark. But this does not have the warm undertone of Edith. The next four:

These four are variety of my lips but better shades. I was initially hesistant on Olga and Catherine, but when I applied them on my lips, there is this sheer touch of color that makes your lips look quite healthy (they aren't too fllat and pale, phew!).

410 Catherine is a sheer warm beigy shade
422 Olga is a sheer pink
426 Roussy is a warm pink, seems to have a coral peachy tinge to it
402 Adrienne is a pretty nude which I am sure will go down very well with most people. With a lip pencil, you can build up this lipstick into a really flattering nude lips that suit smokey eyes, or maybe even on no makeup days, you can pop these range of shades here to have healthy looking lips and face in general.

And the last four also feature few work-friendly everyday shades that are tawny and warm. And a few looks featuring some of the shades:

Initial Impressions:

These lipsticks feel very nourishing on the lips. I find that the bolder shades are really easy to wear, all gliding very smoothly onto your lips. The Chanel SA applied Arthur on my lips with a lipbrush, blot, before putting on another layer. The rest is a rich elegant red that makes your lips look full and smooth. They might not be the most long lasting but these lipsticks have a very forgiving texture that makes reapplication effortless. I like the sheer range of colors, and there is something to suit anyone.

These lipsticks will launch either end of the Feb or early march. They retail for S$48 each.

I hope that this entry has been helpful, and thank you for reading!
