Milani Moisture Matte Lipsticks

Milani's Moisture Matte Lipsticks are the newest addition to Milani's lip collection. While the current shade selection is narrow, the promises are big. All 7 shades offer a matte finish, along with a guarantee that they won't budge or feel uncomfortable on the lips. I bought 2 shades when I first saw them on a drugstore display (and used one in a Valentine's Day tutorial), then Milani sent two more of the bolder shades my way. Here are 4 of the new colors out:

Matte Naked: medium cool nude
Matte Blissful: light cool pink
Matte Orchid: electric fuchsia
Matte Glam: deep purple

The texture across all of the shades are consistent. All of them glide across lips without tugging, and leave a smooth, velvety texture when you blot your lips together. My lips were in rough shape at the time I took the pictures below, but you can see that any dry patches, or uneven texture remain smoothed and un-emphasized.
While I didn't experience transfer-proof wear, the bolder shades stain the lips to extend the wear of the overall color. I noticed Matte Orchid lasting through eating and drinking beyond the 4 hour mark. After the matte finish completely wore away, my lips remained tinted for an hour or two longer.
Despite the long-lasting wear, these didn't dehydrate my lips - and I certainly didn't experience the uncomfortable "tightening" that goes along with a lot of matte lipsticks. Comfortable wear: check.
Overall, these are some of the best mattes to come from drugstore shelves. At just $5.99, they're unbelievably affordable. All of the shades currently released lean cool, so hopefully they even things out with some warmer shades in the near future!
