Decor Inspiration | Otomí Textiles

St. Frank
Otomí fabrics have long been a favorite of my, and recently I find myself drawn to them in so many spaces. The Otomí people are an indigenous group inhabiting the central region of Mexico, and their hand embroidered textiles are sought after. Imagine the number of hours to hand stitch each unique fabric, and no two pieces would ever be exactly the same! I've loved many varying colors including blue, red, and grey:

But let's be honest, my neutral-loving self always comes back to the soft warm greys:

I love every installation of this St. Frank Grey Otomí framed in lucite & linen that I come across!

There are so many fantastic products out there designed around traditional Otomí patterns, even wallpapers! But I just can't get over the TEXTURE of the embroidery:

If you want to add a dose of this fab texture to your home, but don't quite have the budget for a framed piece of art as you see above, don't forget to explore places like Etsy! This lovely pillow below is a fraction of the price, and if you love grey Otomí as artwork you can actually order grey textiles and have them framed yourself from shops like this one and this one.
