M&S got in touch and asked if I would like to pick a trend from their new womenswear collections and style up a few pieces. I have jumped all aboard this seasons 70s trend, so this peasant blouse and denim bell bottoms were my selection. I cheesed up the images by pretending to take photos with my late grandfathers Olympus Trip. I think it is from the 70s, but it might be the early 80s. I do have film in there that I need to develop from a year ago…oops.

Bell bottoms/flares are my favourite shape of denim – they really elongate your legs. I have spoken about my short, disproportionate legs before on the blog and the fact I am slightly pear shape. Skinny jeans and a fitted top together is the MOST unflattering combination on me.
I went looking for a pair of flares this time last year, without much joy. There is an abundance around now and we are spoilt for choice. ASOS is usually my first choice for high-street denim as you can buy them in leg and waist sizes. I do really love the fit around the bum and waist with this M&S pair, it has a really fitted feel. In fact I am really impressed with the M&S denim range as a whole when I was scouring the site. This pair is regular, but they are a bit too long for me, I really needed to go for petite. My mother who took the photos, did say it was how they wore them back in the 70s though., basically skimming the ground.
